More than something to look through
Your windshield helps hold the roof up if the car rolls, and the passenger airbag pushes against it when it goes off. A crack weakens it, sits in your line of sight, and grows a little with every pothole and cold snap.
So when a chip has turned into a crack, a new windshield is the safe fix. We fit them on cars, trucks, SUVs and vans, and we'll tell you honestly if a repair would do instead.

How a windshield goes in
Fitting takes about 1 to 2 hours. Here's what happens while your car is with us.

Step 1
Cover everything up
Seats, dash and paint get covered first, so nothing gets scratched or dusty.

Take off the wipers and cowl
The wiper arms and the trim at the bottom of the glass come off to give us room.

Step 3
Cut out the old glass
We cut through the old urethane and lift the windshield out without bending the frame.

Step 4
Prepare the frame
The old urethane is trimmed back and the frame is cleaned and primed, so the new bond holds.

Step 5
Set the new windshield
A fresh bead of urethane goes on, and the new glass is lowered into place and lined up.

Step 6
Let it set
The urethane needs time to cure before the car is safe to drive. We'll tell you exactly when.

Clean up and check
Wipers and trim go back on, the glass is cleaned, and we check the seal all the way round.

When can I drive it?
The urethane that holds the windshield in needs time to set before the car is safe to drive. That's usually an hour or two, and longer on a cold Calgary day. We'll tell you exactly when it's ready, so you're not guessing.
For the first day or two, the new seal is still getting stronger. A few small things help.
Which glass goes in?
There are two kinds of replacement windshield. We'll tell you what's available for your vehicle and the price of each, and you choose.
OEM-equivalent
Made to the same specs
Built to the same size, shape and safety standards by another maker. It usually costs less.
Insurance and calibration
We deal with your insurer
Glass damage is usually covered under the comprehensive part of an auto policy. Check your coverage and deductible, and we'll bill your insurer directly and handle the paperwork.
Camera recalibrated in-house
If your car has lane assist, adaptive cruise or automatic braking, the camera behind the windshield needs recalibrating after a replacement. We do that too. About ADAS calibration

Why replace it? Can't I just drive with the crack?
Your windshield is part of the car's structure. It helps hold the roof up in a rollover, and the passenger airbag pushes against it when it goes off. A crack weakens all of that, gets in your line of sight, and usually keeps growing with every cold snap.
Can my windshield be repaired instead?
If the damage is a chip smaller than a loonie, away from the edge and out of the driver's line of sight, it can usually be repaired for $29.99. Long cracks, several chips, or damage near the edge mean a new windshield. Send us a photo and we'll tell you which one you need.
How long does it take?
Fitting a windshield takes about 1 to 2 hours. After that the urethane needs time to set before the car is safe to drive, usually an hour or two, and longer on cold days. We'll tell you when it's ready.
What glass do you use?
OEM glass, or OEM-equivalent glass made to the same specifications. We'll tell you what's available for your vehicle and what each one costs before we order.

My car has lane assist. Does that change anything?
Yes. The camera for lane assist, adaptive cruise and auto braking sits behind the windshield, so it has to be recalibrated after a replacement. We do static and dynamic calibration ourselves.

Yes. As well as our shop in NE Calgary, we can replace your windshield at your home or work. Ask for on-site service when you book.
